The new Doritos Loaded snacks are a freezer-friendly version of the original Doritos Loaded product rolled out at 7-Eleven back in 2014. Like the fresh version, the frozen appetizer consists of bite-sized, triangular pieces filled with a melted cheese sauce and coated in a cheesy Doritos chip crust. The snacks come in both a mild Nacho Cheese variety that is deliciously savory and a [Jalapeno & Cheese variety](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loaded-steak-jalapeo-nacho-fries) that has an extra kick of heat. Both versions are sold frozen and can be cooked in just minutes for quick and convenient at-home snacking. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Frozen Snack Innovation:** The introduction of frozen versions of popular snacks opens the door for other brands to create freezer-friendly appetizers with unique flavors and textures. - **Convenience Foods:** The rise of frozen appetizers such as the Doritos Loaded snacks caters to the growing demand for convenient and quick-to-prepare food options, presenting opportunities for other convenience food brands to expand their product lines. - **Flavor Varieties:** The success of the Nacho Cheese and Jalapeno & Cheese varieties of the Doritos Loaded snacks suggests that there is a market for frozen snacks with a variety of flavors, encouraging other snack companies to offer diverse taste options. ### Who This Affects Most - **Frozen Food Industry:** The introduction of frozen versions of popular snacks not only expands the frozen food industry but also creates opportunities for collaboration between snack brands and frozen food manufacturers. - **Convenience Food Industry:** The rising demand for convenient and quick-to-prepare food products presents opportunities for the convenience food industry to develop innovative frozen snack options. - **Snack Food Industry:** The success of the Doritos Loaded snacks highlights the potential for innovation and expansion within the snack food industry, particularly in the frozen appetizer category. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Taco-Inspired Tortilla Chips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/late-night-loaded-taco.md) - [Mildly Spicy Beef Appetizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nachos-beef-cheese.md) - [Ranch-Flavored Chip Nachos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doritos-notchos.md) - [Late-Night Snacking Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doritos-after-dark.md) - [Meta Chip-Infused Chip Dips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doritos-dip.md) - [Cheesy Tater Tot Appetizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loaded-tots.md) - [Fiery Nacho-Flavored Crisps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scorchin-wavy-loaded-nachos.md) - [Taco-Flavored Corn Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corn-nuts-loaded-taco.md) - [90s-Inspired Tortilla Chips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doritos-jumpin-jack-cheese.md)
