# Fire-Detecting Door Handles The 'Bleep' Door Knob Handle Whistles to Warn of Fire By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-09-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/door-knob-handle References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/09/23/the-doorknob-that-cries-fire/) The 'Bleep' door knob handle looks to ensure that residents of a home or an office building remain safe during the event of a fire. The 'Bleep' handle operates like any other handle when there is no danger present. If a fire breaks out, the flames will suck up all the oxygen in the room that will create a slight vacuum effect that will draw in air from wherever it can. This is where the 'Bleep' handle comes into handy: the vacuum effect will pull air through the whistle and create a [shrill sound](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bells-and-whistles-collection) to let [residents of the space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchbot-safety-alarm) know not to enter or touch the handle. The 'Bleep' door knob handle is the design work of Wang Jun-Yi, Tu Chun-Yi, Yang Ding-Zan and Ju Shiuan-Kai. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Fire-safety Technology:** Developing innovative technologies to enhance fire safety in homes and offices. - **Proactive Safety Measures:** Implementing proactive safety measures through intelligent door handle designs. - **Responsive Alarm Systems:** Creating alarm systems that respond directly to the environment to alert occupants of potential dangers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Security:** The home security industry can tap into the demand for fire-detecting door handles to provide comprehensive safety solutions. - **Commercial Construction:** Commercial construction companies have an opportunity to incorporate fire-safety technology, like the 'Bleep' handle, into their building designs. - **Interior Design:** Interior design firms can explore incorporating aesthetically pleasing fire-safety features, such as the 'Bleep' handle, into their projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hands-Free Door Handle Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/safe-lever-door-opener.md) - [Interior Push-Pull Door Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anylock-milda.md) - [Soundless Doorbell Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silent-doorbell-1.md) - [Hands-Free Home Doors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/milda-evolve-door.md) - [Minimalist Sound-Free Doorbells](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silent-doorbell.md) - [Tooth-Shaped Active Doorbell Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skitter.md) - [3D-Printed Door Gear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ross-lovegroves-door-handles.md) - [Quad-Access Connected Doorknobs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tcl-k1.md) - [Easy-to-Use Fire Extinguishers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/agni-fire-extinguisher-redesign.md)
