Extremis is a Belgian design house where cleverness is the top priority. For instance, Dirk Wynants' DoNuts picnic table is the result of asking , ” Wouldn't it be nice if I had a place to eat my lunch on the beach?”. Alright. How about an [inner tube as a seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chunk-doughnut-chair) with a [lightweight plastic table top](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept) that's easy to store and carry. This is such a fantastic and simple way of easing the beach outing burden that I wonder why it has never come about before. Thanks Dirk. And thanks Extremis for your amazingly dramatic product photos. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 2% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Clever Furniture Design:** Extremis' DoNuts picnic table shows the trend towards clever furniture design solutions. - **Portable Outdoor Furniture:** DoNuts' lightweight and easy-to-store design creates opportunities for the development of more portable outdoor furniture. - **Innovative Beach Gear:** DoNuts' use of an inner tube as a seat shows the potential for innovation in beach gear products. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Outdoor Furniture:** Extremis' DoNuts picnic table is disrupting the outdoor furniture industry with its clever and innovative design. - **Picnic and Beach Accessories:** DoNuts presents an opportunity for the development of more innovative and portable picnic and beach accessories. - **Design and Manufacturing:** Extremis' approach to clever and innovative furniture design provides opportunities for disruption and growth in the design and manufacturing industries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multifunctional Park Picnic Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-picnic-furniture.md) - [Compact Outdoor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-1.md) - [Dynamic Structural Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldont-chair.md) - [Collapsible Outdoor Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-outdoor-furniture.md) - [Pool Noodle-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loop-furniture.md) - [Imaginative Modern Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inside-collection.md) - [Playful Outdoor Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-new-raw-1.md) - [Ultra-Modern Outdoor Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-furniture-collections.md) - [Versatile Outdoor Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fermob.md)
