The Donkey NBA started during the Depression and has always been drastic and disordered since there are always players falling off the donkey's back. As you might guess, the Donkey NBA is opposed heavily by animal rights entities like the Animal Protection Association, since during regular play donkeys are hit, kicked and elbowed inadvertently by players. Moreover, the donkeys must prepare for each game by fasting so that they won't do their business on the court. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Animal Sports:** Disruptive innovation opportunities could involve creating virtual or robotic animal sports experiences to eliminate animal suffering. - **Alternative Sports:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation include designing unique, unconventional sports that capture people's attention and curiosity. - **Controversial Sports:** Disruptive innovation opportunities lie in creating controversial sports that generate debate and discussion. ### Who This Affects Most - **Sports Entertainment:** There is potential for disruptive innovation in the sports entertainment industry by offering unique and unexpected sporting events that captivate audiences. - **Animal Rights Advocacy:** Innovative solutions could be developed within the animal rights industry to address concerns raised by animal sporting events like the Donkey NBA. - **Event Management:** Disruptive innovation opportunities exist in event management to create unconventional, attention-grabbing sports events like the Donkey NBA. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Animated Sports Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dunk-the-halls.md) - [Sports-Themed Board Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monopoly-panini-prizm.md) - [Winterized Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kfc-1.md) - [Fantasy Basketball NFTs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sorare.md) - [Basketball League-Inspired Metaverses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nbpa-metaverse.md) - [Basketball Championship NFTs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-association-nft.md) - [NBA-Themed Dog-Friendly Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-beast-and-nba.md) - [Co-Branded Slot Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nba-super-slam.md) - [Museum-Run Basketball Courts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museumrun-basketball-court.md)
