# Political Parody Portraits These Strange Donald Trump Artworks Represent How Some See Him By Riley von Niessen | Published 2016-08-16 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donald-trump-art References: [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/is-this-how-the-rest-of-the-world-views-donald-trump-1785340259) & [dinild.tumblr](http://dinild.tumblr.com/) As a means to show how much the American [Republican](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dame) candidate offends them, a number of [Tumblr](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tumblr-campaign) users have joined together to offer the Internet their own Donald Trump artworks. The resulting imagery is difficult to look at, as the business man's face has been replaced with close-ups of his own aging skin or taken over entirely by a grotesque single feature. While one shows him with an incredibly swollen blob for a head that has a large mouth and beady eyes poking out, another shows him with just a gaping mouth for a face. With these Donald Trump artworks, Tumblr users depict how they view the candidate -- showing him as exaggerated, distorted and disturbingly unattractive. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.8/10 - Popularity: 96% | Activity: 99% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Political Parody Art:** Opportunity for artists to create parodies of political figures, such as Donald Trump, to express their opinions and critique. - **Online Art Communities:** Emerging platforms like Tumblr provide a space for artists to connect and share their political artwork with a wide audience. - **Social Commentary Through Art:** Artists use their work to comment on political figures and express their views on social issues, creating engaging and thought-provoking content. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Artists can explore new mediums and techniques to create political parody artworks, attracting collectors and enthusiasts. - **Social Media:** Platforms like Tumblr offer an online community for artists to showcase their political artwork, fostering engagement and discussions. - **Political Commentary:** Artworks can spark conversations about political figures and their impact on society, encouraging dialogue and activism. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stylized Portrait Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/face-to-all.md) - [Wall-Mounted Animatronic Figures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trumpy-trout.md) - [Distorted Burger Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ailloween.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md) - [Pop Art-Style Blocked Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-in-red.md) - [Snack Artwork Auctions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mischief-by-chester.md) - [Hyper-Realistic Flesh Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junji-ito.md) - [Artful Activism Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowflake-exhibition.md)
