# Papercraft Apartments The Don Lucho 'Casa De Carton' is an Amazing Piece of Art By Michael Hines | Published 2010-06-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/don-lucho References: [buzzfeed](http://www.buzzfeed.com/besi/paper-house-thx) & [flickr](http://www.flickr.com/photos/lpower/) Made entirely out of paper, the Don Lucho 'Casa de Carton' is no [ordinary apartment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabanon). From the lights to the toilet (and even to the wrecked car out front) these [papercraft pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-airplane) will have you in awe. What amazes me about the Don Lucho 'Casa de Carton' is his attention to detail. For example, the water in the toilet bowl is colored in and there are even [paper linens on the bed](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dollhouse-concept). This house may not be Big Bad Wolf-proof or waterproof, but it is still definitely badass. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Papercraft Art:** The trend of creating intricate art pieces using paper offers opportunities for disruptive innovation in the art and design industry. - **Sustainable Design:** The use of paper as the primary material in architectural design presents opportunities for disruptive innovation in sustainable and eco-friendly construction practices. - **Immersive Experiences:** The use of papercraft to create immersive environments opens up opportunities for disruptive innovation in the events and entertainment industry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can leverage the trend of papercraft art to explore new forms of creative expression and engage audiences in unique ways. - **Construction:** The construction industry can embrace the concept of using paper as a sustainable building material to drive disruptive innovation in architectural design and construction methods. - **Events and Entertainment:** The events and entertainment industry can incorporate papercraft-based immersive experiences to create memorable and interactive events that captivate audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sustainably Crafted Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-log-house.md) - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md) - [Cardboard-Inspired Ceramic Household Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-collection.md) - [House-Like Paper Runways](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-show-space.md) - [Paper-Inspired Artful Museums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museum-for-papirkunst.md) - [Cardboard Box-Transformed Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/box-exhibition.md) - [Upcycled Waste Material Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-furniture-design.md) - [Thoughtful Micro Studio Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-studio-apartment.md) - [Meticulous Paper-Stacked Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paragraphic-in-four-stacks.md)
