It allows humans to be as close as possible to the animals' natural habitat from a safe place. It boasts a naturally round shape that is meant to resemble the [natural tree hollow](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timber-nest) that birds will enter to take shelter. This also reduces the weather impacts of harsh conditions including snow, wind, and rain. The tophole is designed with a deep cylindrical shape which protects the animals from [predatory animals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/watchtower-einderheide). The structure has a low center of gravity and can be fastened between branches of a tree without having to cause any damage to the trees.
