A [frosted glass dome](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuloa) covers the bulb, giving it the illusion of being a small flame located within the lantern, while an [old-fashioned turn key](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poldina-classic-lamp) gives the user the feeling of turning on a gas lamp. Turning the knob allows for control of the brightness of the lamp, making the light seem to flicker for a genuine effect. One style includes a wooden platform with the controller placed on the base while the other style is set onto a slab of marble with the turn key located on the actual dome. The soft light emanating from the Quinque dome lamp series is ideal for creating a [romantic ambience](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lantern-silk-collection). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 46% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Vintage-inspired Lighting:** Opportunity to create lighting designs that evoke nostalgia and warmth through vintage elements. - **Faux-flame Lighting:** Opportunity to integrate the illusion of a flickering flame within modern lighting designs for added ambiance. - **Smart Lighting Controls:** Opportunity to create lighting systems that allow for easy control of brightness and ambiance, such as through smartphone apps or voice assistants. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to incorporate vintage-inspired lighting designs in interior spaces to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. - **Hospitality:** Opportunity to utilize faux-flame lighting in hotels, restaurants, and bars for a warm and intimate ambiance. - **Smart Home Automation:** Opportunity to develop smart lighting systems that offer enhanced control and customization options for homeowners. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Candle-Mimicking Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hymn.md) - [Japanese Lantern-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/madco.md) - [Digitized Gas Lamp Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/auge-camping-lantern.md) - [Hanging Lantern-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo-table-lamp.md) - [Modernized Lantern Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ambientec-madco.md) - [Opulent Outdoor Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gubi-seine-portable-lamp.md) - [Retro-Tinged Compact Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lari-mini.md)
