DOM Studio is a compact workspace designed by architect Marta Nowicka in Camber Sands, East Sussex. Positioned on a small plot near the shoreline, the building was conceived as a [year-round retreat and studio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-shack-1) adjacent to the architect’s home.

The structure draws on the protective character of nearby sea walls, using a distinctive curved profile and sloping facade designed to deflect [strong coastal winds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coastal-house) while maximizing solar exposure. Constructed almost entirely from [reclaimed materials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tengbom), the project incorporates recovered scaffolding planks, hollow concrete blocks, and wood-wool boards to create a deliberately raw and monolithic appearance.

The studio’s interior is organized around the building’s parabolic roof form, with a workspace positioned beneath the highest point and oriented toward a large picture window overlooking the landscape. A more intimate seating area and wood-burning stove occupy the lower section of the interior, while a bathroom and infrared sauna are located at the eastern end.
