Dubbed the "world's smallest and gentlest washing device," the soap-shaped device can be used as a home or travel washer that uses 90% less energy than regular washing machines. Despite being a high-tech creation, the Dolfi pebble is very easy to use. Place your soiled delicates in a basin or container of water, [add detergent](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dylon-detergent), switch on the Dolfi and place it in the water. Then rinse the clothes a half hour later and hang them up to dry. The device uses a transducer that generates [ultrasonic waves that create microscopic bubbles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microbubbles) in the water. As the bubbles collapse, they produce tiny shock waves that dislodge dirt from fabrics without harming the fabric. The Dolfi is currently the subject of an Indiegogo campaign. A pledge of $89 will get you set up with a Dolfi pebble, inflatable hanger and a silicone basin stopper. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Pocket-sized Washing Devices:** The Dolfi is an example of a pocket-sized washing device that utilizes ultrasonic waves to wash delicate clothes, presenting an opportunity for the development of more portable and efficient laundry solutions. - **Energy-efficient Laundry Appliances:** The Dolfi's use of ultrasonic waves to wash clothes with 90% less energy than regular washing machines highlights the potential for energy-efficient laundry appliances in the market. - **Gentle Cleaning Technologies:** The Dolfi's ability to dislodge dirt from fabrics without harming them showcases the demand for gentle cleaning technologies that can maintain the longevity of delicate clothes. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Appliance Industry:** The development of pocket-sized washing devices like the Dolfi presents an opportunity for innovation and disruption within the home appliance industry, specifically in the laundry sector. - **Travel Industry:** The compact and portable nature of the Dolfi makes it an ideal solution for travelers, indicating a potential market for travel-friendly laundry appliances and accessories. - **Textile Industry:** The demand for gentle cleaning technologies like the Dolfi indicates potential growth within the textile industry, as consumers seek products that can maintain the quality and longevity of delicate fabrics. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Miniature Portable Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-mini-washing-machine.md) - [Portable Mini Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gsoak.md) - [Versatile Ultrasonic Cleaners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultrasonic-cleaners.md) - [Multipurpose Portable Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wonertool-portable-washing-machine.md) - [Foldable Portable Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pqp-design.md) - [Portable Ultrasonic Dishwashers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-ultrasonic-dishwasher.md) - [Portable Handheld Dishwasher](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/automated-portable-handheld-dishwasher.md) - [Portable Cleaning Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cleanguard.md) - [Portable Washing Machine Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-washing-machine.md)
