# Personality-Alerting Dog Tags The 'Street ID' Labels Help Owners Identify Their Dog's Disposition By Katherine Pendrill | Published 2015-06-14 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dogs-disposition References: [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/767167777/barklyn-pup-dog-leash-and-gear-designed-on-and-for?ref=category_recommended) & [barklynpup](http://www.barklynpup.com) Not all dogs are comfortable around strangers, so 'Barklyn Pup' has created a clever set of tags for owners to warn others about their dog's disposition. The 'Street ID' tags were created by a Brooklyn-based couple after they noticed that one of their dogs was extremely nervous around strangers and other dogs. Instead of continually warning people about their dog's skittish personality, they created a set of recognizable labels that would easily identify their dog's disposition. The Street ID line features [double-sided tags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/signs), stitched with the phrase 'friendly' or 'nervous.' The tags are large in size and can easily be spotted and read from a distance. The tags ultimately help to prevent unpleasant exchanges with strangers and other [dog owners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brightkins) by warning them in advance if your dog is uncomfortable around unfamiliar faces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Personalized Dog Tags:** Opportunity to create customizable dog tags that reflect a dog's personality or disposition. - **Visible Dog Labels:** Opportunity to develop easily recognizable and readable labels that can help owners communicate their dog's temperament to others. - **Preemptive Pet Communication:** Opportunity to create innovative ways for owners to warn others about their pet's demeanor in advance to prevent unpleasant experiences. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Pet Accessories:** Opportunity for pet accessory companies to offer customizable dog tags and labels that cater to pet owners' needs. - **Pet Services:** Opportunity for pet service providers to offer personalized communication tools that enhance pet owners' ability to convey their pet's temperament. - **Technology and Pet Safety:** Opportunity for technology companies to develop wearable devices or smart tags that help display a dog's personality or interactions with others. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Limited-Edition Pet Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/working-dogs.md) - [Charm-Adorned Dog Collars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charmadorned-dog-collar.md) - [Personalized Pet-Tracking Tags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personalized-dog-tracker-findmy.md) - [Minimalist Pet Accessory Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neighborhood-dog-series.md) - [Modern Pet Tagging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qr-tag-system.md) - [Camp-Inspired Dog Collar Charms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-collar-charms.md) - [Scent-Infused Dog Training Stickers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-training.md) - [Lost Pet ID Tags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/one-pet-id.md) - [Connective Canine Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-park-app.md)
