The hybrid dog selfie camera and [treat dispenser](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-feeder1) is a way for owners to stay in touch with their pets all day long. When a dog or cat wanders into the field of vision of the PetBot, it will get their attention with a sound or a recording of the owner's voice. When the pet approaches the PetBot, the camera will take a cat or dog selfie and send it to the owner, then reward the pet with a treat. Owners get little updates on their pets all day, and pets get treats and hear the comforting sound of their human's voice throughout their time apart. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Pet Tech:** The PetBot is an example of a disruptive innovation in the pet tech industry, combining a camera and treat dispenser to keep owners connected to their pets. - **Remote Pet Monitoring:** The ability to capture pet selfies and remotely reward them with treats opens up opportunities for remote pet monitoring services and products. - **Human-animal Interaction:** The PetBot enhances the human-animal interaction by allowing owners to stay connected with their pets through images, sounds, and treats from a distance. ### Who This Affects Most - **Pet Tech:** The PetBot falls under the pet tech industry, which is continuously evolving and creating new opportunities for innovative products and services. - **Smart Home:** The integration of the PetBot with smartphones and home automation systems aligns with the growing trend of smart home technology. - **Pet Care:** The ability to remotely monitor and interact with pets opens up opportunities for the pet care industry, including pet sitting and remote pet health services. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AI-Powered Pet Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petlibro-scout-smart-camera.md) - [Remote Pet Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rola-petpal.md) - [Automated Pet Companion Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enor-e1.md) - [Robotic Pet Companions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guliguli-smart-companion.md) - [Reactive Robotic Dog Companions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oro-robot.md) - [Pet-Specific Calling Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calling-device-for-pets.md) - [Rolling Pet Connectivity Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freshrobot-rollbot.md) - [Pet-Taken Camera Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heartography.md) - [Artificial Intelligence-Powered Pet Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-pet-feeder.md)
