If you take your dog to the [dog groomer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/king-animal-hospital), you expect your dog to look prim and proper once the entire grooming process is done and nothing more. The majority of dog owners subjugate their canine companions to a bland conformist style. The dogs featured in Netherland's photos have been dyed and sheared to showcase images of well-known television characters, jungle animals, mythical creatures and sci-fi characters. The dogs depicted were part of [creative dog grooming competitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camp-bow-wow) across the United States. Not many dog owners are willing to recreate their dog's image for the sake of breaking away from societal norms, which makes these photos all the more valuable. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 88% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Creative Dog Grooming:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new and unconventional ways to groom dogs, such as incorporating popular culture or fantasy themes. - **Personalized Pet Styling:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Offer customized grooming and styling services for pets, allowing owners to express their unique personalities through their furry companions. - **Non-conformist Pet Culture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Tap into the growing demand for pet-related products and services that defy traditional norms and embrace individuality. ### Who This Affects Most - **Pet Grooming and Styling:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative grooming techniques, products, and services that push the boundaries of conventional pet grooming. - **Pet Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Offer specialized pet photography services that capture unique and creative images of pets. - **Pet Fashion and Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create fashion-forward pet clothing and accessories that reflect owners' desire for individuality and self-expression. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pet-and-Owner Salons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/short-bark-and-sides.md) - [Functionally Focused Dog Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-dogs.md) - [Dog-Themed Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dogthemed-puzzle.md) - [Spooky Charming Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crown-paw.md) - [Pet-Taken Camera Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heartography.md) - [AI Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawmypet.md) - [AI Pet Photo Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pawfoto.md) - [Artful Elevated Litter Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doggy-bathroom-1.md) - [Boldly Designed Pet Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dusen-dusen-1.md)
