# Edible DIY Dog Bowls These Edible Dog Food Bowls Make Feeding Strays More Efficient By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-10-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-food-bowls References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/10/13/a-diy-edible-dog-bowl-with-instructions/) Offering a meal to a stray dog often means giving it to them in a plastic container, so these edible dog food bowls are intended to be a no-mess, zero-waste way to feed hungry dogs. Designed by Namik Yigit Ildas, the [dog bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trot-pets-1) are created using tortellini bread and are molded into the shape of a bowl before being baked in the oven. This enables them to be used to offer stray dogs a meal or even for use with one's own pet when they're out of the house. The edible dog food bowls help to eliminate the [plastic waste](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biting-edge-1) that can be created when a bowl of food is left for a stray dog. After the main course has been finished, the bowl can be consumed by the dog for an extra bit of nutrition. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Edible Food Bowls:** Using edible materials for food containers creates new opportunities for reducing waste in both the pet and food industries. - **Zero-waste Feeding:** Eliminating waste in the pet food industry through innovative products like edible food bowls can shift attitudes and behaviors toward more sustainable options. - **DIY Pet Food:** Making pet food from scratch, including edible food bowls, can offer pet owners more control over the ingredients and reduce waste. ### Where This Applies - **Pet Food:** Innovating in the pet food industry to create more sustainable and customizable options, like edible food bowls, can appeal to environmentally conscious pet owners. - **Food Packaging:** Exploring materials for food packaging, like edible options, can create more sustainable and innovative solutions to reduce waste and environmental harm. - **Sustainable Technology:** Incorporating sustainable technology, such as edible materials, into product design and manufacturing can create a more circular and regenerative economy, while reducing waste. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Dog Bowl Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-dog-bowl.md) - [Upcycled Dog Foods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doggiebag.md) - [Edible Treat Containers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treat-container.md) - [Multifunctional Dog Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-bowls.md) - [Health-Focused Pet Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doggy-diner.md) - [Dog-Friendly Instant Noodles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noodles-for-dogs.md) - [Intelligent Maze-Style Dog Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hank-pet-bowl.md) - [Ergonomic Pet Snack Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elevated-complete.md) - [Modern Pet Dishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-dog-bowl.md)
