Combining the iconic characters with the game of chess, people will be able to manipulate them in a way that the Tardis time travelling machine never could. Nevertheless, it does embody the [sci-fi aspect](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-x-stranger-things) of the show through the [three dimensional depictions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foros-game) of the characters on the chess pieces. Available online at the Neatoshop, the Doctor Who Lenticular Animated Chess Set is comprised of 32 highly detailed 'Doctor Who' characters. Whether a person plays as a hero or a villain, they will be satisfied with the renditions. Other than the unique chess pieces, the game board is rather standard. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 4% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **3D Chess Sets:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop interactive features that enhance gameplay and bring a new dimension to traditional chess sets. - **Crossover Fan Merchandise:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create unique products that combine elements from different franchises to appeal to niche fan bases. - **Sci-fi Collectibles:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Utilize advanced manufacturing techniques to create highly detailed and realistic collectible items inspired by popular science fiction properties. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Toy and Game Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate technology, such as augmented reality or AI, into traditional toys and games to enhance the playing experience and open up new possibilities. - **Entertainment Merchandise:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore collaborations between different entertainment franchises to create unique merchandise that caters to the interests of crossover fans. - **Geek Culture Fashion and Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate cutting-edge materials, designs, and technologies into fashion and accessories inspired by popular geek culture references to offer unique products for dedicated fans. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Magical Robotic Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gochess-wizard.md) - [Ceramic Chess Seating Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-chess.md) - [Electromagnetic Conduction Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/masteek-lightup-chess-set.md) - [Chocolate Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compartes-chocolate-chess.md) - [Flat-Pack Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jigsaw-chess-set.md) - [Beautifully Artful Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-chess-set.md) - [Building Block Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-tower-chess-set.md) - [Stealthy Automotive Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rollsroyce-chess.md) - [War-Inspired 3D-Printed Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kindachess-s.md)
