There are a number of sites on the net that provide plans for building your own clock. "I decided a few weeks ago to build a wooden gear clock because I wanted to understand the clock mechanism better. There are a number of websites that offer plans for wooden gear clocks, but as someone with absolutely no woodworkng experience (band practice generally interferes with taking shop class), and no tools, I needed something that was ready to build. I found three sites that offer such kits: Jeff's wooden-gear-clocks.com, klockit.com and clockplans.com." - KrazyDad ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **DIY Clock Projects:** Opportunity for innovation in creating DIY clock kits and educational toys. - **Wooden Gear Clocks:** A market for ready-to-build wooden gear clock kits, catering to individuals with no woodworking experience. - **Online Clock Plans:** Increasing popularity of online platforms providing clock plans for DIY enthusiasts. ### Where This Applies - **Education Toys:** Innovative approaches to develop educational toys that promote learning and engagement. - **Woodworking Tools:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in introducing user-friendly woodworking tools for beginners. - **E-commerce:** Expansion of online platforms catering to DIY enthusiasts and offering various project kits. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [DIY Wristwatch Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mechanical-wristwatch-building-kit.md) - [Mechanical Digital Mesmerizing Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triaxial-numechron-clock.md) - [Interactive Horology Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perse-fantme.md) - [Watch Movement DIY Kit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seiko-nh36.md) - [DIY Music Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/make-your-own-music.md) - [DIY Wooden Pinball Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3d-wooden-puzzle.md) - [Elegant Linear Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-clockworks.md) - [Minimal Dynamic Desk Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-desk-clock.md) - [Analog-Style Digital Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/klydoclock.md)
