The colorful homes in the Do Ho Suh Fabric Residences installation piece are quite surreal. The [light-as-air structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iwagumi-air-scape) are made out of sheer-colored cloth and are suspended from the ceiling, giving them the appearance of floating.

The artist Do Ho Suh recreated some of his [previous living accommodations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-week-at-the-knees) ranging from his Manhattan apartment building to the unit he shared with his family. By using [sheer gauzy materials draped](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible) over metal rods that give shape and structure to these installations, the artist demonstrates his interpretation of what a home is and the temporary nature of those homes. The result is a delicate and detailed rendition of different types of buildings that have a dream-like quality to them.
