It’ll look perfect in a corner as a [static sculptural piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fossil-furniture) or even better, a [rotary version](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table) which will allow easier access to the books and objects on the shelves. This design is not in production yet but could soon be if a manufacturer could be found. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Biomimicry Furniture:** Manufacturers can explore creating furniture inspired by the biological structures and mechanisms found in nature. - **Rotary Bookcases:** There is potential for a new market of bookcases that rotate for easier access to books and objects on the shelves. - **Sculptural Functional Furniture:** Designers can explore the creation of functional furniture that doubles as a visually striking sculptural piece. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can explore the development of unique and visually interesting furniture designs that function in unconventional ways. - **Interior Design:** Designers can incorporate biomimicry furniture and sculptural functional furniture into their interior designs to add an artistic and visually striking element to a space. - **Bookstore Retail:** Rotary bookcases could be a disruptive innovation for bookstores, creating an interactive experience for customers as they browse the store's selection. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Twisting Donut-Shaped Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hullabaloo-bookshelf.md) - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Twisted Wooden Boxed Sideboard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deniz-aktay.md) - [Sculptural Bookshelves Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-bookshelf.md) - [Video Game-Like Bookcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-bookcase.md) - [Expandable Bookcase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burrow-index-bookcase.md) - [Unique Burl-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/don-heston-studio.md) - [Personality-Enhancing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ordo-book.md) - [Dynamic Geometric Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cheft.md)
