The routers are all outfitted with [McAfee](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mcafee-scam-detector) virus protection, which acts as an upstream approach to thwarting potential network threats and keeping viruses at bay. The solutions are also optimized for smart home control and work with [WiFi mesh principles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eero1) to completely eliminate dead zones that have transitioned from an annoyance to unacceptable as consumers require constant connectivity. The D-Link Exo routers were spoken on by D-Link Corporation President Steven Lin who said, "We believe the Exo Series will effectively future-proof the home network with its powerful, intelligent technologies and capabilities. With Wi-Fi Mesh and McAfee protection, we are truly bringing the best quality network experience to consumers." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Virus Protection Routers:** The integration of virus protection technology into routers presents an opportunity for further development of cybersecurity in home networking. - **Smart Home Control Optimization:** Optimizing routers for smart home control presents an opportunity for further development of home automation technologies. - **Wifi Mesh Elimination of Dead Zones:** The elimination of dead zones using WiFi mesh technology presents an opportunity for further development of seamless connectivity solutions in home networking. ### Who This Affects Most - **Networking:** The incorporation of virus protection technology into routers presents an opportunity for networking companies to improve cybersecurity measures. - **Home Automation:** Optimizing routers for smart home control presents an opportunity for the development of home automation solutions. - **Connectivity Solutions:** The elimination of dead zones using WiFi mesh technology presents an opportunity for companies to develop seamless connectivity solutions for home networking. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Protective Smart Home Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tplink-archer-axe300.md) - [Protective WiFi 7 Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tplink-archer-be805.md) - [VPN-Integrated Networking Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aircove-wifi-6-vpn-router.md) - [Family-Focused Home Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/synology-wrx560.md) - [Dynamic Security Networking Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mesh-networking-systems.md) - [Encrypted VPN Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/encrypted-vpn-router.md) - [AI-Powered Mesh Networking Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dlink-eagle-pro-ai-ax3200-mesh.md) - [Advanced Avian-Inspired Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dlink-aquila-pro-ai-m95.md) - [App-Focused WiFi 6 Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/synology-rt6600ax.md)
