# PC Turntable Mods DJ Sound Control Transforms a Laptop Into a Tune Blasting Machine By Matt Ho | Published 2011-09-02 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dj-sound-control References: [engadget](http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/29/dj-sound-control-computer-mod-redefines-luggable/) & [absolutextremes](http://www.absolutextremes.com/blarsky/?page_id=15) While the DJ Sound Control may have the words 'Lenovo' scribbled on it, the company actually has nothing to do with it. Instead, this incredible PC mod comes from the mind of Chris Blarksy who decided to transform the laptop into a music blasting item. The DJ Sound Control essentially takes Lenovo's A700 model laptop and re-imagines it as a turntable. Considering how just about every DJ relies on laptops nowadays, this is a fitting modification. The screen opens up and reveals an entire control rig including two turntables, a crossfader and other little knobs that's perfect for mixing, scratching and making beats with. There's even a sliding drawer underneath that can accommodate a keyboard. This is one of the best uses of a laptop -- you know, outside of surfing the net. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/computers) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **PC Modding:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new ways to transform existing PC models into specialized devices for different industries. - **Digital Djing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop advanced software and hardware solutions to enhance digital DJing experience and push the boundaries of creativity. - **Portable Music Production:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design compact and versatile music production tools that integrate seamlessly with laptops for musicians on the go. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create customized modifications for laptops and PCs to cater to specific industries such as music production, gaming, or video editing. - **Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative DJ software and hardware solutions to elevate live performances and redefine the DJing experience. - **Consumer Electronics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Invent portable music production devices that integrate with laptops, enabling musicians to produce music anytime, anywhere. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro-Futuristic DJ Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opj-dj-console.md) - [Interchangeable Component DJ Decks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-dj-controller.md) - [Cyberpunk DJ Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/midi-controller-concept.md) - [Standalone DJ Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rane-system-one.md) - [Ring-Style DJ Gear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuno-1.md) - [Modular DJ Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twin-dj.md) - [Intricate DJ LEGO Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pioneer-cdj-2000-nexus.md) - [Consolidated DJ Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dj-systems.md) - [DJ Console-Inspired Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cdj-2000.md)
