Dubbed the DJ-808, this particular DJ controller was created as part of a collaboration with [Serato](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slab-controller), and includes a comprehensive array of drum sounds that can be armed and triggered through touch-sensitive pads. Users can even connect their turntables to the DJ controller, and can use the contraption in conjunction with an XLR-connected microphone for vocal processing. By placing control in the hands of the user, the DJ-808 controller is designed to make it easier for DJs to translate ideas into sounds. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Drum-sequencing DJ Controllers:** Music equipment manufacturers can explore the innovation potential in amping up sound capabilities of DJ controllers. - **User-controlled DJ Interfaces:** The rise of user-controlled DJ interfaces will continue to allow DJs to better translate their ideas into sounds. - **Collaborative DJ Equipment Design:** Collaborations like the one between Roland and Serato can result in innovative DJ equipment that empowers musicians and enhances the music experience. ### Who This Affects Most - **Music Equipment Manufacturing:** Music equipment manufacturers can explore the innovation potential in amping up sound capabilities of DJ controllers. - **Music Production:** The rise of user-controlled DJ interfaces allow music producers to be more creative and add more personalization to their work. - **Entertainment:** Innovative DJ equipment can be used to enhance the music experience of audiences in various entertainment settings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Beatmaking Controller Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slab-controller.md) - [Standalone DJ Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rane-system-one.md) - [Cyberpunk DJ Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/midi-controller-concept.md) - [Retro-Futuristic DJ Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opj-dj-console.md) - [Ring-Style DJ Gear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuno-1.md) - [All-In-One DJ Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opus-quad-dj-system.md) - [Drum Machine Feature Updates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tr8s-30.md) - [Interchangeable Component DJ Decks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-dj-controller.md) - [Livestream Quad-Device Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roland-aerocaster-live.md)
