The exhibit consists of 3 large trees ingeniously installed on rotating disks of lawn, in the center of a small forest of 14 others which have their roots firmly planted. The rotational speed is quite slow, and the trees have been planted on an odd angle, so initially you could mistakenly assume they are blowing in the wind. The installation by [Diller](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-liberia), Scofidio and [Renfro](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diller-scofidio-renfro2), will definitely get some puzzled looks from bewildered onlookers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 80% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Spinning Tree Installations:** Creating installations with spinning trees as a focal point can provide a unique and visually intriguing experience for art enthusiasts and visitors. - **Rotating Disks of Lawn:** Using rotating disks of lawn in installations can add a playful and dynamic element to outdoor spaces. - **Misleading Structures:** Creating structures that deceive viewers into thinking they are something else, like trees blowing in the wind, can add an element of surprise and whimsy to art installations. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can benefit from incorporating innovative and playful elements into installations, like spinning trees on rotating disks of lawn. - **Landscaping and Outdoor Design:** The landscaping and outdoor design industry can utilize rotating disks of lawn in outdoor spaces to create visually appealing and dynamic environments. - **Architecture:** Architects can incorporate elements of surprise, like misleading structures, into building designs to engage and intrigue viewers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sound-Interactive Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arborhythm.md) - [Revolving Bright Kinetic Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/library-of-light.md) - [Rotating Solar-Powered Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-solarpowered-bench-that-spins-ever-so-slowly.md) - [Neon Illuminated Christmas Trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fluorescence.md) - [Tree-Integrated Mysterious Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tree-mural.md) - [Illuminated Christmas Tree Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-lit-up.md) - [Resin Gravity Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-tree.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md) - [Playable Oak Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funeral-for-a-tree.md)
