# Killer Papercrafts Postleferguson's DIY Weapons, From Paper Grenades to Uzis By Katherinev123 | Published 2009-09-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-weapons References: [coolhunting](http://www.coolhunting.com/archives/2009/09/postlerferguson.php) & [gestalten](http://www.gestalten.com/nonbooks/detail?id=ceaea76523135ee601231914dde20056#moreinfo) In a world rife with real weapons, we can thank design duo Postlerferguson for creating unharmful paper versions of deadly bombs and guns, DIY weapons that could only hurt you by giving you a nasty paper-cut. Postlerferguson’s new paper grenade, Uzi, M4A8, and MP5 add to their current AK-47 paper model kit and the DIY Weapons not only provide crafty hands with something to do, they also provide arms-fans with a bit of education on the weapon histories, including how the Uzi was first captured and the uniqueness of the MP5’s modular design. While I can’t say I love the idea of more weaponry on the market—DIY Weapons or otherwise—at least I finally learned what M4A8s and MP5s are. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 72% | Activity: 73% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **DIY Weapons:** Create at-home weapons from paper as a safer alternative to real weapons. - **Educational Crafting:** Provide hands-on educational experiences by creating papercraft versions of historical weapons. - **Non-violent Gaming:** Further develop the trend of non-violent video games by introducing papercraft weaponry for role-playing. ### Who This Affects Most - **Arts and Crafts:** The DIY Weapons papercraft trend may provide a boon to the arts and crafts industry with a new product to sell to hobbyists. - **Education:** Creating educational papercraft weapon kits could be an opportunity for educators to introduce history and weaponry to students in an engaging and non-violent way. - **Gaming:** The non-violent gaming trend could be further capitalized upon by offering DIY papercraft weaponry for role-playing purposes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md) - [Anti-Gun Water Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antigun-water-toys-jayhayspray20-promotes-change-in-societys-relationship-w.md) - [Eco Paper Crafting Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-fx.md) - [Kid-Friendly Power Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/supcutter.md) - [Self-Defence Tubular Inflatable Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/street-seat.md) - [Gel Pellet Toy Guns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hasbro-1.md) - [Eco-Friendly Paper Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-camera.md) - [Paper-Made Dissolvable E-Waste](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pape.md) - [Stone Paper-Made Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-shoot.md)
