The concrete tent begins its life as a [flexible, easy to transport tarp material](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wind-anchor). By first filling a plastic bag containing the soft canvas wrapped around an [inflatable lining](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xenonest) with about 800 liters of water, the wheels are set in motion for the creation of this tarp that will eventually enlarge to 50 square meters. By pumping air into the expanding tarp and slowly unfolding the structure with the help of a truck, its fair to say that this concrete DIY tent that can withstand the heat of a blow torch will change the meaning of "roughing it." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Eco Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/ecoarchitecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **DIY Concrete Shelters:** The trend of creating durable, transportable concrete structures through DIY methods presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in construction and emergency response industries. - **Flexible Concrete Technology:** The development of this concrete tent demonstrates potential for flexible concrete technology, creating opportunities for innovation in industries such as architecture and transportation. - **Portable Survival Shelters:** The rise of portable, durable shelters capable of withstanding different climates presents an opportunity for innovation in outdoor and camping industries. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Construction:** DIY concrete shelters may disrupt traditional building methods and provide an alternative solution to affordable, durable housing. - **Emergency Response:** Portable, concrete-based shelters may revolutionize disaster relief efforts by providing durable structures that can be quickly deployed in emergency situations. - **Outdoor Equipment:** The development of new, portable shelter options presents opportunities for innovation in the outdoor equipment industry and new solutions for camping and outdoor living. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Inflatable House-Shaped Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-architecture-inflatable-tent.md) - [Flexible Concrete Water Tanks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-concrete-tanks.md) - [Four-Season Inflatable Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fourseason-inflatable-tent.md) - [Consolidated Camping Shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/consolidated-camping-shelter.md) - [Posh Polyhedral Camping Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tokyo-crafts-grayhus.md) - [Quick Inflatable Spacious Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cube-tent.md) - [Inflatable Stormproof Geodesic Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heimplanet-kirra.md) - [Inflatable Four-Season Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-station-pod01.md) - [Oversized Cave-Like Camping Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heimplanet-cave-xl-tent.md)
