DIY projects are fun because you can add your personal touch to the things you create. Generally, projects you tackle turn out to be the things you need the most and get the most use out of. This [paint-by-numbers DIY pillow project](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paint-mirror) is a little more involved than other [crafty projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-crystal-floral-kits), but the outcome is totally worth it. Someone who dabbles in paint will already have the required supplies, but if this is your first time putting brush to canvas, you will need to pick up a few things. Paintbrushes, fabric markers, masking tape, paint-by-number guide and multi-surface craft paint should do the trick. Use a heavyweight cotton pillow back for the best results. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **DIY Home Decor:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating DIY kits for various home decor projects. - **Personalized Crafts:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in providing customizable craft projects for individuals to add their personal touch. - **Artistic Home Accessories:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in designing and manufacturing artistic home accessories that can brighten up a room. ### Who This Affects Most - **Craft Supplies:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in producing and selling unique craft supplies that cater to the DIY market. - **Textile and Fabric:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating innovative textiles and fabrics specifically designed for DIY home decor projects. - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in merging art and design to create unique and artistic home accessories. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Customized Numeric Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paint-by-numbers-customized.md) - [Exuberant Love-Inspired Pillows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laura-dro-designs.md) - [Vibrant Designer Decor Pillows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designer-decor-pillow.md) - [DIY Embroidery Ornaments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-stitched-ornament-kits.md) - [Thoughtful Home Accessories Shops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-accessories-shop.md) - [Handcrafted Rustic Pillow Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pillow-cover.md) - [AI-Powered Painting Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loklik-ipaint.md) - [Custom-Designed Painting Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customdesigned-painting-kit.md) - [Color-In Press-On Nails](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tipzy.md)
