This DIY is the simplest one I’ve seen yet and I will definitely be making my mother (and myself) a few chalkboard canisters and filling them with a variety of exotic teas. You will only need chalkboard paint and a selection of [empty jars with lids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-airtight-container-set) for this simple, recycled, practical DIY Mother’s Day gift. After washing the jars, paint the tops with two coats of chalkboard paint. After allowing to dry, use chalk to write the name of whatever tea you fill the jar. A set of three exotic teas in these crafty jars will surly make your mom smile. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 76% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **DIY Mother's Day Gifts:** Reusable Chalkboard Tea Canisters offer a creative and personalized way to show appreciation to Moms everywhere. - **Upcycled Containers:** Repurposing empty jars with chalkboard paint is a sustainable way to add value to everyday household items. - **Exotic Tea Trends:** Exotic tea blends can provide a unique sensory experience that can be marketed in creative packaging. ### Who This Affects Most - **Craft and DIY:** Entrepreneurs can sell ready-made kits with chalkboard paint and jars to tap into DIY Mother's Day gifting trends. - **Sustainability and Upcycling:** Companies can explore ways to reduce waste and create products that have a longer lifespan such as upcycled containers. - **Food and Beverage:** New businesses can capitalize on the rising consumer demand for unique and exotic tea blends, creating an opportunity to offer innovative packaging and sensory experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Customizable Mother's Day Teas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-tea.md) - [Mother's Day Tea Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mothers-day-tea-set.md) - [Pagoda-Shaped Tea Jars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tea-jars.md) - [Sakura-Inspired Mother's Day Gifts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sakurainspired.md) - [Mother's Day Drink Carriers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stanley-resort-floral-quencher-flowstate-h20-tumbler.md) - [Mom-Inspired Candle Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candle-line.md) - [Customizable Olive Oil Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paint-pour-gift-set.md) - [DIY Floral Tea Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/herbal-tea-seed-kit.md) - [Edible Artist-Created Gifts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mothers-day-artist-collection.md)
