Completely customizable, the team at A Beautiful Mess created a black-painted, wood paneled headboard with the word “Sleepover” emblazoned in lights. If you’re looking for a more mature theme, you can always substitute the words for a pattern or a design. For younger DIYers, “Sleepover” and other fun words the girls at A Beautiful mess debated, such as “Good Night” or “Welcome” or “Sweet Dreams,” are a great way to incorporate some fun into your sleeping chambers. Inspired by marquee signs, the duo of Elsie and Emma at A Beautiful Mess created this fun and personalized look only using planks of wood, black paint, lights, a drill and electrical tape. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 94% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Customizable DIY Home Decor:** The DIY Light Up Headboard exemplifies the rising trend of customizable home decor, giving consumers the opportunity to create unique and personal living spaces. - **Marquee-inspired Lighting:** The DIY Light Up Headboard showcases a growing trend of marquee-inspired lighting, giving businesses the opportunity to create products that incorporate fun and functional lighting elements. - **Creative Home Accent Lighting:** The DIY Light Up Headboard represents a trend of using creative accent lighting in the home, opening up opportunities for innovation in lighting design and functionality. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** The customizable and playful DIY Light Up Headboard represents a disruptive innovation opportunity in the home decor industry by providing a unique and personal touch to home furnishings. - **Lighting:** The marquee-inspired design of the DIY Light Up Headboard highlights the potential for innovation in the lighting industry by incorporating fun and decorative elements into everyday lighting fixtures. - **Consumer Electronics:** The use of electrical tape and other basic components in the creation of the DIY Light Up Headboard represents an opportunity for consumer electronics companies to develop accessible and easy-to-use DIY electronics kits for consumers interested in personalizing their living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Blue Floating Bed Frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bed-frame.md) - [Timeless Panelled Oak Headboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nima-bed.md) - [Cabin-Shaped Reading Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boof-reading-light.md) - [Built-In Sensor Smart Headboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-head.md) - [Ready-to-Assemble Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/semi-exact.md) - [Vienna Straw Headboard Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiko-wien-bed.md) - [Ultra-Fast Bed Assembly Brands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/easy-setup-sustainable-made-in-canada-expandable.md) - [Spooky Interior Décors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-lamps.md) - [Chic Curved Bed Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bedroom-furniture.md)
