The unique botanical accessories are a great way to display small plants or to spruce up a colourful kid's room. These planters are both fun and easy to make! All you'll need for this creation is a [plastic dinosaur](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chrome-dino), a small plant with soil, a utility knife and paint. After cutting out an opening on the dinosaur's back that is large enough to fit a plant, pierce holes in the figurine's belly in order to drain water. Before displaying a plant, one has the option to paint their [DIY dinosaur planter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilt-planter). Two or three coats are recommended for the piece though this step is optional. Whether leaving the figurines in their natural form or painting them a bold colour, the planters are a great way to add personality to any space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **DIY Planters:** Opportunities for creating unique and customizable planters that add a personal touch to home decor. - **Botanical Accessories:** The popularity of accessories that incorporate nature, such as planters, as a way to bring the outdoors inside. - **Kid's Room Decor:** Innovative ideas for decorating children's rooms with fun and interactive elements like DIY dinosaur planters. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the home decor industry by incorporating unique and customizable planters. - **Fashion Accessories:** Opportunities for fashion companies to create botanical accessories that incorporate elements of nature in their designs. - **Nursery and Kids' Products:** Innovative ideas for companies in the nursery and kids' products industry to create interactive and playful room decor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multifunctional Plant Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/face-plant-planter.md) - [Disco-Inspired Hanging Planter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/disco-ball-plant-hanger.md) - [DIY Terrarium Jars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crackyourown-geode-crystal-terrariums.md) - [Virtual Pet Planter Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-pot-concept.md) - [Demure Dual-Function Hanging Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-fixture-planter.md) - [DIY Plant Decor Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/make-it-yourself-plant-stand.md) - [Interactive Fossil-Inspired Costumes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wearable-dinosaur-costume.md) - [Artsy Hanging Plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-air-plant-mobile.md) - [Trellis-Equipped Indoor Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blume-planter.md)
