# Fanned Room Dividers The Division Room Divider Combines Artistic Design With Heavy Metal By Michael Hines | Published 2011-03-23 | Updated 2011-03-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/division-room-divider References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/division-room-divider-design-by-dieter-amick/) & [dankedieter](http://www.dankedieter.com/) The Division Room Divider from designer Dieter Amick may be the most metallic room divider ever created. Amick's Division Room Divider has an artistic design that was inspired by an airplane breaking the sound barrier. When an airplane breaks the sound barrier, a wall of water vapor is left behind. The wall looks solid, but it quickly dissolves, leaving behind no trace of its existence. The Division Room Divider acts the same way, quickly [folding out](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/design-406) and creating an imposing physical presence when needed. The divider quickly folds up when not needed and can be stored in almost any area of the house. The Division Room Divider pairs artistic design with sturdy material to create a room divider that is both tough and intricate at the same time. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 60% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Metallic Room Dividers:** Designers can explore new shapes and techniques in creating metallic room dividers that offer both function and beauty. - **Intricate Folding Designs:** Innovative folding designs could revolutionize small space living by offering flexible room division and storage solutions. - **Nature-inspired Room Dividers:** Room dividers that take inspiration from nature can blur the lines between indoors and outdoors in a unique and creative way. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** Furniture companies can create unique room dividers that blend form and function to cater to the growing demand for multi-functional living spaces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate room dividers that are not only functional but also visually appealing to create dynamic living spaces. - **Architecture:** Architects can explore the possibilities of room dividers as structural elements to create versatile and adaptable living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pleated Textile Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plissade.md) - [Hemp Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breeze-divider.md) - [Rotating Panel Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ro-room-dividers.md) - [Material-Centric Room Divider Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ren-series.md) - [Felt-Made Retractable Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pixels-1.md) - [Sculptural Room Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morgen-screen.md) - [Dual-Weave Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bilid.md) - [Flexible Room Partition Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/room-partition-system.md) - [Elegant Innovative Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glimakra-of-sweden.md)
