# Transparent Hilltop Abodes The Division Knoll Residence is at the Peak of Luxury By Alex Scott | Published 2010-04-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/division-knoll-residence References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2010/04/07/the-division-knoll-residence-by-sagan-piechota-architecture/) & [sp-architecture](http://www.sp-architecture.com/) Situated in the [foothills of California](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-house-1), the Division Knoll Residence is a beautiful piece of architecture surrounded by an even more beautiful view. Having a completely [see-through home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-ridge-house) might seem like a compromise on privacy, but that's certainly not the issue when the home is located on a [300 foot cliff](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aip-azia-villa). Designed by Sagan Piechota Architecture, the Division Knoll Residence also features beautiful stone floors, a copper roof and state-of-the-art decor. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the perfect home. That's not an opinion--that's a fact. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Transparent Architecture:** Opportunities to re-imagine design and material innovations for completely see-through building structures. - **Luxury Cliffside Homes:** Innovations in modular cliffside housing building structures with an emphasis on safety and sustainability. - **State-of-the-art Interiors:** Opportunities to integrate technology and automation into luxury home interiors for ultimate convenience and comfort. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Innovative architects can explore the possibilities of designing completely see-through homes. - **Modular Housing:** Modular construction companies can focus on building sustainable cliffside homes with an emphasis on safety and energy efficiency. - **Smart Home Technology:** Companies specializing in smart home technology can work to integrate state-of-the-art automation and convenience into luxury home interiors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hilltop Modern Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cloud-house.md) - [Ocean-Overlooking Perched Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-sur.md) - [Stepped Hillside Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/b2a-architects.md) - [Cantilevered Mountain Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brutal-honesty.md) - [Faceted Cedar Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-house-on-a-hill.md) - [Glass Philosophical Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-ridge.md) - [Chilean Hillside Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-three-heights.md) - [Tranquil A‑Frame Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steel-a-frame.md) - [Modern Mountainous Luxury Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robert-chisholm-architects.md)
