# Laser Measuring Tapes The Magpie VH-80 Bilateral Laster Distance Measurer is Accurate By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2017-05-16 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/distance-measurer References: [thegadgetflow](http://thegadgetflow.com/portfolio/vh-80-bilateral-laser-distance-measurer/) & [magpie-tech](http://magpie-tech.com/) Using a [traditional measuring tape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enso-tape) can be somewhat cumbersome and could result in slightly off measurements, so the Magpie VH-80 Bilateral Laster Distance Measurer is intended to offer a distinctly accurate alternative option. Operating with the touch of a single button, the measurer instantly sends a [laser out in either direction](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laser-rangefinders) in order to measure the space that exists between the two surfaces or items that they end at. This makes it inherently useful when it comes measuring without a partner nearby to hold the opposite end of the measuring tape. The Magpie VH-80 Bilateral Laster Distance Measurer works with an accompanying app that enables DIYers, carpenters, designers or real estate agents to [add measurements to photos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/measure-tools) to add to listings or projects as required. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Laser Measuring Technology:** There is an opportunity to innovate laser measuring technology by exploring additional features and functionalities such as integration with AR and VR. - **Smartphone Integration:** Develop an app that offers additional functionalities such as project management tools, inventory tracking, and a library of project designs. - **Voice Assisted Technology:** Create a laser measuring tool that can be operated by voice, allowing for hands-free measurements and greater convenience for users. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Construction:** Laser measuring technology has the potential to streamline the construction industry by saving time, increasing accuracy, and reducing material waste. - **Interior Design:** Laser measuring technology can be leveraged to improve the interior design industry by reducing the time needed for measurements, enabling designers to create more detailed and accurate plans. - **Real Estate:** Innovative laser measuring technology can help real estate agents to more accurately measure and represent properties, leading to greater transparency, trust, and speed of transactions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Digital Laser Tape Measures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-laser.md) - [Digital Measuring Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lidar.md) - [One-Button Laser Measures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-laser-measure-pro.md) - [Six-in-One Laser Measure Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laser-measure.md) - [Connected Professional Tape Measures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acegmet-dtx-10.md) - [Modular Laser Measure Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-laser-measure.md) - [Next-Gen Connected Tape Measures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-tape-measure.md) - [Compact Multifunctional Laser Measurers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meazor.md) - [Bluetooth-Connected Tape Measures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/datapro-25.md)
