An [interactive airborne display](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-holographic-projector), Displair takes fogscreens to a whole new level thanks to the introduction of [multitouch gestural capabilities](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hkmlc-smart-boards). Although some might term Displair as a glorified humidifier, those who have a chance to interact with it will disagree wholeheartedly. Equipped with a [projector and an infrared camera](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/choice-ai), Displair allows people to use it as they would a computer, although on a much more immersive level. On demo at the 2013 Consumer Electronic Show, people were able to play such applications as Google Earth and Fruit Ninja on Displair. Displair has a Mark Zuckerberg-like backstory. It was developed in a student dorm in Russia by Maxim Kamanin. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 72% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Interactive Airborne Displays:** Displair's interactive airborne display opens up new possibilities for immersive computing experiences. - **Multitouch Gestural Capabilities:** The introduction of multitouch gestural capabilities in Displair takes interactive displays to the next level. - **'minority Report' Future:** Displair brings us closer to a future similar to the one depicted in the movie 'Minority Report'. ### Where This Applies - **Interactive Display Technology:** Displair's innovative interactive airborne display is poised to disrupt the interactive display technology industry. - **Gaming and Entertainment:** Incorporating applications like Google Earth and Fruit Ninja, Displair presents disruptive opportunities in the gaming and entertainment industry. - **Computer Peripherals and Accessories:** Displair's unique capabilities as a multitouch airborne display can disrupt the computer peripherals and accessories industry by creating a new category of products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Augmented Reality Projection Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetop.md) - [Projected Kitchen Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-holodisplay.md) - [Three-Dimensional Mixed-Reality Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/looking-glass-1.md) - [Hyper-Realistic Holograms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solidlight.md) - [Touch-Free Screen Technologies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touchnetix.md) - [Touchless Interaction Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phantomy-software.md) - [Portable XR Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rayneo-air-3s-pro.md) - [Versatile Spatial Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spatial-computer.md) - [Portable Holographic Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/looking-glass-go.md)
