Not content with simply creating beautiful drawings, Lou goes on to write a brief piece of fan fiction that explains the reasoning behind some of her pairings. As those who have seen Pacific Rim are well aware, a Jaeger must be piloted by two people, and for the most part Lou pairs up Disney characters with their romantic partners, in some cases however – like that of [Lilo and her sister](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lilo-stitch-collection), or Merida and her mother – pairings are also chosen based on familial bloodlines. Beautifully rendered, this Disney Pacific Rim mashup is sure to please fans of both series. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 76% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Disney Mashup Trend:** The trend of combining iconic Disney characters with other popular franchises presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the area of fan merchandise and marketing. - **Jaeger Trend:** The use of mechs or Jaegers in popular culture is a trend that presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the area of technology and robotics. - **Fan Fiction Trend:** The trend of fan fiction and alternate storytelling presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the area of entertainment and content creation. ### Where This Applies - **Entertainment Industry:** Disney, as a major player in the entertainment industry, can explore opportunities to expand their reach and engage with their audience by partnering with other popular franchises such as Pacific Rim. - **Merchandising Industry:** The mashup trend creates opportunities for disruptive innovation in the merchandising industry by offering unique and innovative products that cater to the interests of fans of both franchises. - **Robotics Industry:** The popularity of Pacific Rim and the Jaegers can present opportunities for disruptive innovation in the robotics industry by exploring the feasibility of creating real-life mechs or robots that can be used for practical applications. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Classical Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sen-donnan.md) - [Whimsical Activewear Collabs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lululemon-x-disney.md) - [Animation-Inspired Themed Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pixar-place-hotel.md) - [Crossover Adorable Short Films](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zen-grogu-and-dust-bunnies1.md) - [Cartoon-Themed Performance Wear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/disney-x-lululemon.md) - [Enchanting Classic-Animation-Inspired Jewelry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/girls-crew.md) - [Animation-Themed Frozen Meals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kidslife.md) - [Reimagined Film Brick-Form Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bricktoons.md) - [Dairytale Bridal Tributes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/disney-wedding-dresses-1.md)
