Created by Hakan Gürsu of Designnobis, Tentative has an extremely compact, [flat-pack design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fire-for-life) and measures just 30 cm when unpacked. The award-winning structure reflects an enormous need. In 2013 natural disasters displaced 22 million people. The disaster shelter is constructed from fiberglass shells and a quilted material that is durable, weather resistant and thermally insulated. The flooring is also insulated with recycled composite decks, while legs keep it off the cold ground. The roof collects water while offering light and ventilation too. The portable solution is suitable for a variety of climates and fits a family of four. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 100% | Activity: 98% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Flat-pack Emergency Shelters:** There is a growing need for compact and portable emergency shelters that can be easily shipped and assembled in disaster-stricken areas. - **Sustainable Disaster Relief:** Incorporating recycled materials and sustainable technology in the design of emergency shelters can address both environmental and humanitarian concerns. - **Innovative Disaster Response:** The development of innovative solutions like Tentative's flat-pack shelters can revolutionize the way we respond to catastrophic events and save lives in the process. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Humanitarian Aid:** The use of flat-pack shelters like Tentative can greatly benefit humanitarian organizations and government agencies involved in disaster relief efforts. - **Construction:** Designing and manufacturing compact and durable flat-pack shelters requires expertise in material selection, production, and logistics, making it a potential area of growth for the construction industry. - **Environmental Sustainability:** Creating sustainable and eco-friendly materials and technology for emergency shelters presents opportunities for companies and industries focused on environmental sustainability and renewable energy. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Origami-Inspired Disaster Relief Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prefab-folding-pods.md) - [Eco-Friendly Modular Refugee Shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allspace-1.md) - [Humanized Waiting Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/de-wachtkamer.md) - [Disaster-Ready Housing Prototypes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/essential-homes.md) - [Pop-Up Emergency Shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/terra-nova-bothy-bag.md) - [Experimental Shelter Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grayhus.md) - [Modular Tent Classroom Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zaha-hadid-architects-2.md) - [Collapsible Emergency-Ready Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tomori-lantern-kit.md) - [Consolidated Camping Shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/consolidated-camping-shelter.md)
