The ordinary parts have become imaginative photographs by [Hartford Art School](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-home-savings) student Brittny Badger. The compilation was part of her senior thesis project. Badger says, “I took apart used [cooking/cleaning appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hapffe-waffle-maker), and arranged their interior parts very systematically on a white sheet of bristol board. My intention was to explore the hidden “brains” of these appliances; allowing us to view these everyday objects from a new perspective.” I can relate to Badger because when I was young I had a certain panache for taking things apart too – radios, televisions, calculators – whatever I could get my hands on! The ‘Disassembled Household Applances” shown are as follows: 1. Juicer 2. Toaster 3. Waffle maker 4. Coffee maker 5. Popcorn maker 6. Can opener 7. Dust Buster 8. Electric knife 9. Iron 10. Beaters ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Artistic Deconstruction:** Opportunities exist for artists to explore and showcase ordinary objects from a new perspective through disassembling and rearranging their interior parts. - **Object Perception:** There is potential for individuals to gain a deeper understanding of everyday appliances by dismantling and examining their hidden components. - **Creative Upcycling:** The disassembling of household appliances offers the chance to repurpose their components and create unique and imaginative artwork or functional pieces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can explore new possibilities and inspiration by incorporating the concept of disassembled household appliances into their work. - **Education and Research:** Educational institutions and research organizations can utilize the concept of disassembled household appliances to teach about product functionality, engineering principles, and innovation. - **Upcycling and DIY:** The upcycling and do-it-yourself industries can leverage the idea of disassembled household appliances to create unique and environmentally friendly products or provide tutorials for repurposing appliance components. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ai-Powered Recipe-Generating Appliance](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kitchen-cosmo.md) - [Telescoping Component Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hybrid-kitchen-aid.md) - [Batman-Themed Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batman-small-kitchen-appliance-design.md) - [Junkyard-Inspired Art Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junkyard-diving.md) - [Modular Handheld Home Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circulab.md) - [Industrial Architecture-Themed Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/industrial-archaeology.md) - [Rustic Small Appliance Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/small-appliance-collection.md) - [Repurposed Electric Scooter Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emetabolism-collection.md) - [Upcycled Object Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nendo-and-daniel-arsham.md)
