# See-Through Dinosaur Lights The Dino Lamp Reveals His Transparent Skeleton When Light Reflects Off By Amelia Roblin | Published 2015-02-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dinosaur-light References: [johnsoho](http://www.johnsoho.com/) This dinosaur light emits a steady balance of understated detail, standing as an elaborate plastic skeleton that you can see directly through. John Soho's first lighting design takes inspiration from prehistoric forms, simultaneously incorporating fresh and new approaches to the aesthetic of this sort of object. It's an altogether dynamic piece of work. The Dino Light is a great 90 centimeters in length, making it suitable as a table lamp or as a floor lamp, depending on the space that you have available. A stable structure of 5-millimeter acrylic material suggests the ribcage, the leg bones and the distinctive large skull of the legendary triceratops. Available in colorless clear plastic and red-tinted too, this [dinosaur light interacts intriguingly with rays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp), whether the encapsulated lightbulb is on, or whether it's off with the sunlight reflecting. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Transparent Design:** Opportunity for innovative designs that incorporate see-through elements to create unique and intriguing products. - **Prehistoric Inspiration:** Potential for creating products that draw inspiration from dinosaurs and prehistoric forms, tapping into the fascination with ancient creatures. - **Dynamic Lighting:** Possibility for designing lighting fixtures that create a dynamic visual experience through the interaction of light with transparent materials. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for interior designers to incorporate transparent design elements and prehistoric inspiration into their projects. - **Lighting:** Opportunity for lighting companies to develop unique and eye-catching products by combining dynamic lighting techniques with transparent materials. - **Home Decor:** Potential for home decor retailers to offer dinosaur-inspired products, such as lamps, that appeal to customers interested in unique and playful designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rechargeable Multicolored Dinosaur Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/globe-electric.md) - [Reversible Dinosaur Plushies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glow-in-the-dark-dinosaur-plushies.md) - [Interactive Fossil-Inspired Costumes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wearable-dinosaur-costume.md) - [Human Physio-Themed Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dif-lamp.md) - [Kinetic Insect Sculpture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dragonfly-balance-light.md) - [Dinosaur Intricate Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dinosaur-fossils-tyrannosaurus-rex.md) - [Dinosaur Fossil Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-dinosaur-fossils-trex-skull.md) - [Creature-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pink-robots-won.md) - [Dinosaur-Themed Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dinosaur-fossils-triceratops-skull.md)
