From French startup Prynt, the case will turn your smartphone photos into physical copies in less than one minute. Currently only a prototype, Prynt will be launching a crowdfunding campaign soon. The phone cases are compatible with [iPhone 6](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartphone-filter-kit) or Android devices with 4.7 inch screens. With this product, smartphone photographers pick a picture they want to print from their phone -- regardless if it's a recent snap or an older image -- and instantly print it. The digital polaroid takes 50 seconds, and the Prynt team hopes to shorten this time considerably using an [Apple](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-life) Lightning connector. Eventually, it will also hold 10 to 30 pieces of photographic film. There isn't any pairing required either, meaning it doesn't need wifi or Bluetooth. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Digital Polaroid Cases:** The creation of smartphone cases that functions as a digital Polaroid camera aims to bring back the feeling of printed pictures for the smartphone generation. - **Instant Printing Technology:** The development of instant printing technology for smartphones aims to address consumer demand for physical copies of digital photos and increase convenience and accessibility in doing so. - **Crowdfunding for Hardware:** The emergence of hardware crowdfunding campaigns like Prynt's aims to provide an alternative fundraising approach for tech startups, allowing them to garner interest and financial support directly from consumers. ### Where This Applies - **Smartphone Accessory:** As a new type of smartphone accessory, digital Polaroid phone cases represent an opportunity for smartphone accessory manufacturers and designers to tap into the growing demand for increased functionality for these devices. - **Printing Technology:** The development of instant printing technology represents an opportunity for printer manufacturers and developers to broaden their current market scope and explore collaboration with new industries such as smartphones. - **Crowdfunding:** Hardware crowdfunding represents an opportunity for entrepreneurs and startups in the tech industry to secure funding and connect with potential customers directly through the use of online platforms. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Instant Film Smartphone Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm-instax-mini-link-3.md) - [Artwork-Friendly Smartphone Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm-instax-mini-link-plus.md) - [Subtle Smartphone-Friendly Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-image-box.md) - [Portable Smartphone Camera Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instax-mini-link-2.md) - [Pocket-Sized Smartphone Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobile-instant-photo-printer.md) - [Vacuum-Heat Smartphone Case Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/htvront-h17.md) - [Photographer-Targeted Phone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phone-cases1.md) - [Instant Action Camera Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insta360-ace-pro-2-pocket-printer.md) - [E-Ink Display Smartphone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xcool-inkplay.md)
