# Surrealist Literary Collages This Digital Collage Captivates and Seduces By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-08-11 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-collage References: [itsnicethat](http://www.itsnicethat.com/articles/roosje-klap-mathias-schweizer) & [roosjeklap.nl](http://www.roosjeklap.nl/) Mathias Schweizer collaborated with the Roosje Klap studio to create a series of beautiful digital collages for De Gids, a Dutch literary magazine that's been around since the 1800s. Considering the legacy of the publication, each collage includes a literary reference within. However, don't fret if you're not well-read enough to catch the mention; the collages are still a [feast for the eyes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colorama). The project, which is what Klap refers to as “Graphic sex cadavre-exquis,” is a dreamy, [surrealistic composition](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salvador-dali-x-casetify). Each image is sensually dripping with color and texture, lending the series an [erotic charge](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toy-stories) that simply cannot be denied. The series taps into something raw and carnal, although it does so in a subtle, almost sly manner that mimics the art of seduction. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Digital Literary Collages:** Opportunity for businesses to incorporate literary references in their digital collages, creating unique and captivating visual content. - **Surrealist Graphic Design:** Potential for businesses to explore dreamy and surrealistic compositions in their graphic design projects, adding an element of intrigue and fascination. - **Sensual Visual Experiences:** Opportunity for businesses to create visually stunning and erotically charged content, engaging and captivating their audience. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Publishing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for publishers to incorporate digital collages with literary references in their magazines, attracting readers through visually appealing content. - **Graphic Design:** Opportunity for graphic design agencies to explore surrealistic compositions and incorporate them into their projects, offering unique and captivating visual solutions. - **Marketing and Advertising:** Potential for marketing and advertising professionals to create visually stunning and sensually charged campaigns, captivating and engaging their target audience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Surreal Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeffrey-deitch-art-gallery.md) - [Paper Curvature Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-curves.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Abstract Fantasy Home Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abstract-fantasy-home.md) - [Surrealist Beauty Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toiletpaper-magazine.md) - [Unique Artistic Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amusebouche.md) - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md) - [Sexuality-Exploring Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rude-arts-club.md) - [Juxtaposing Artful Collaborative Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sea-galaxy.md)
