Alaska Airlines' New Tags Will Reduce Registration Time by Up to 40%

Alaska Airlines announced a new venture toward technological convenience with its new digital bag tags. These tags will initially be poised as an alternative to printed paper tags, and will potentially replace paper tags altogether based on efficiency and the number of customers that prefer the new tags.

The digital bag tags will be programmable at home through the Alaska Airlines mobile application. The tags can then be attached to the desired cargo bag and scanned at the airport with the very same mobile application. The bags equipped with the digital tags will then be processed through a self-serve conveyer belt, saving as much as 40% more time for customers while reducing airline labor costs.
