For "Music From a Tree," Diego Stocco turned a tree in his backyard garden into a multidimensional musical instrument. By whittling twigs and rigging his fingers with microphones, Diego Stocco was able to record this awesome track you see here. **Implications** - Diego Stocco set up microphones in different areas so that he could intensify the sounds from the tree. One of the tools that he uses actually sounds similar to a violin, but has a squeakier quality. At the end of the video he writes, "Music from a tree," with leaves. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Microphone Instrumentation:** Using microphones in unique ways to create musical compositions from unconventional sources like trees. - **Avant-garde Musical Composition:** Exploring new and unconventional techniques to create music that pushes the boundaries of traditional composition. - **Multidimensional Instruments:** Creating instruments that have multiple layers of sound and can produce unique and nuanced music compositions. ### Who This Affects Most - **Music Production:** Exploring innovative ways to capture and use natural sounds in music production. - **Sound Design:** Pushing the boundaries of sound design by incorporating unconventional sources and techniques into compositions. - **Instrument Manufacturing:** Developing new instruments that offer a multidimensional and unique musical experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Plant-Powered MIDI Sound Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-hultn-tegel.md) - [Playable Oak Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funeral-for-a-tree.md) - [Sound-Interactive Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arborhythm.md) - [Tape Deck Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-folklore.md) - [Felled Tree Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ptacek-home-chunk-line.md) - [Corn-Based Music Albums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roots-remastered.md) - [Contemporary Conservationist Treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sylvascope-treehouse.md) - [Flora-Friendly Meditation Albums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-green-album-by-califia-farms.md) - [Interactive Music Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sound-maestro.md)
