There would be no reason for its design if that was the case. Like the [dice it was inspired by](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/d20-digital-watch), the Dice Speaker can be flipped around the reveal different functions, just as the die has different numbers. For instance, while one face functions as the speaker, another side works as an [alarm clock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-cube-2) while another boasts a radio. Designed by Ray Huang, the Dice Speaker is further equipped with a music player and a micro SD card reader. In order to access a specific function, that particular face has to be directed upwards. It is made out of soft silicone, which covers an inner a plastic body. The Dice Speaker is a Red Dot Design Award winner. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multifunctional Audio Equipment:** The Dice Speaker's design showcases the potential for audio equipment to provide multiple functions in one device. - **Interactive Design:** The Dice Speaker's flipping feature demonstrates the growing trend of interactive design in consumer electronics. - **Integration of Music Player and Radio:** The Dice Speaker's inclusion of a music player and radio highlights the trend of integrating various audio functionalities into a single device. ### Where This Applies - **Consumer Electronics:** The Dice Speaker's innovative features open up disruptive innovation opportunities in the consumer electronics industry. - **Audio Equipment Manufacturing:** The multifunctionality of the Dice Speaker suggests potential disruptive innovation opportunities for audio equipment manufacturers. - **Design and Product Development:** The interactive and versatile design of the Dice Speaker presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the field of design and product development. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dice-Shaped Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unidice.md) - [Multifunctional Sleek Oak Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dice.md) - [Futuristic Five-in-One Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-bluetooth-speaker.md) - [Ultra-Thin Chromatic Speaker Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diyr-speaker.md) - [Digital Analog Wireless Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mark-hifi.md) - [Modular 3D Gamer Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-module-spinner-13.md) - [Washing Machine-Inspired Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hari-3d.md) - [Delightfully Playful Music Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anomalo.md) - [Fashionable Portable Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-speaker-concept.md)
