# Angular Winter Escape Cabins The 'Diamanten Cabin' Sits Comfortably with Amongst Other Dwellings By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2020-10-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diamanten-cabin References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2020/10/03/this-geometric-wooden-cabin-is-perfect-for-a-socially-distant-getaway-2/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+yankodesign+%28Yanko+Design+-+Form+Beyond+Function%29) & [a38arkitekter.no](https://www.a38arkitekter.no/) The 'Diamanten Cabin' has been designed by A38 Arkitekter as a diamond-inspired structure that is focused on sitting neatly on the [mountainside amongst nearby homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/altihut) without looking too out of place. The unassuming design of the cabin consists of only one main room that is completely open-concept and faced outwards onto the village below. This helps to make the space feel as open as possible, while also creating a sort of oxymoronic experience that highlights a certain cozy openness. The 'Diamanten Cabin' is [ultra-modern in certain respects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mountain-chamber), but fits in well with the landscape to help make it an acceptable addition to the Norwegian landscape. While ideal as a [winter escape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-cabin), the cabin also shows promises as an ethereal place to watch the seasons change in the springtime. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Diamond-inspired Architecture:** There is an opportunity for architects to incorporate diamond-inspired designs into their structures to create unique and visually appealing buildings that fit well within their surroundings. - **Minimalist Open-concept Design:** The concept of designing small, open living spaces with minimalistic features is becoming more popular, offering opportunities for designers to create affordable and efficient modern homes and vacation cabins. - **Seasonal Escape Structures:** There is a growing trend in seasonal escape structures that offer a blend of modern and rustic design that allows people to enjoy the natural surroundings of their desired location while still having access to modern amenities. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** There are opportunities for architectural firms to incorporate diamond-inspired designs and minimalistic open-concept design into their work to create unique and visually appealing structures that also fit well within their surroundings. - **Hospitality:** The trend toward affordable, modern seasonal escape structures presents an opportunity for the hospitality industry to offer new, innovative accommodations that blend both modern and rustic designs. - **Real Estate:** The trend toward minimalistic open-concept design presents opportunities for real estate developers to create affordable, efficient modern homes and vacation cabins that meet the growing demand for innovative housing solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Circular Windowed Woodland Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timber-nest.md) - [Architectural Tranquil Cabin Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bolder-londges.md) - [Log Cabin-Inspired Minimal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/restua.md) - [Angular Getaway Cabin Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halfmoon-bay.md) - [Dark-Green Minimal Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scalar-architecture.md) - [Transparent Birchwood Nature Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immerso-glamping-cabin.md) - [Tranquil Nature-Centric Cabin Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nortehaus.md) - [Arctic Floating Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-vipp-guesthouse.md) - [Hilltop Valley-Overlooking Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hermitage.md)
