The Walmart Health Virtual Care Diabetes Program is being launched by the company to provide employees with a way to access essential care on its own or as part of a comprehensive plan. The program is focused on closing the gaps that exist in diabetes management and makes use of evidence-based findings to support the needs of patients. The program could help to drastically improve an employee's wellbeing and aid with keeping unwanted effects at bay.

Dr. John Wigneswaran, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at Walmart spoke on the Walmart Health Virtual Care Diabetes Program saying, "Walmart Health collaborated with the American Diabetes Association to bring this evidence-based virtual program to fruition. Our aim is to empower patients with the most up-to-date diabetes education and clinical care so they can take control of their health. Our program focuses on a patient’s physical and mental health, which also helps employers maintain healthier workforces and drive down overall health care costs.”
