A revolutionary cooling system, it will reduce your energy use by 90 percent. Developed by the [National Renewable Energy Laboratory](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gene-edited-eucalyptus), the DEVap air conditioner "avoids the refrigeration process powered by a compressor and instead uses high-efficiency pumps and fans, in addition to [evaporative cooling](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dairy-evaporator-ezero)," according to PSFK. Considering that it may only be available three years from now, I guess it's good we're in heater mode. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Energy-saving Cooling Systems:** The DEVap Air Conditioner demonstrates the potential for cooling systems that use significantly less power. - **Evaporative Cooling Technology:** The DEVap Air Conditioner showcases the benefits of using evaporative cooling as an alternative to traditional refrigeration. - **High-efficiency Pumps and Fans:** The DEVap Air Conditioner highlights the advantages of using high-efficiency pumps and fans in cooling systems to reduce energy consumption. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Appliances:** The DEVap Air Conditioner presents opportunities for energy-saving innovations in the home appliance industry. - **Renewable Energy:** The DEVap Air Conditioner opens up possibilities for renewable energy technologies in cooling systems. - **HVAC Industry:** The DEVap Air Conditioner suggests disruptive opportunities for the HVAC industry by introducing a more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly cooling solution. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Powerful Portable Air Conditioners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecoflow-wave.md) - [Efficient Air Conditioning Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyperganic.md) - [Freestanding Portable AC Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecoflow-wave-3.md) - [Low-Power Outdoor AC Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-kinoko-kensho.md) - [Consummately Compact Air Conditioners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-air-conditioner.md) - [Chilled Water-Powered AC Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soleus-air.md) - [Space-Conscious Air Conditioners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comfyair.md) - [Personal Peltier Effect Coolers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/semiconductor-cooled-portable.md) - [Space-Conscious Window AC Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comfyair-window-air-conditioner.md)
