# Desktop PC Gaming Pads The Jelly Comb Gaming Desk Mat Offers a Soft Surface for PC Gamers By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2017-02-19 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-mat References: [coolthings](http://www.coolthings.com/large-gaming-mouse-pad/) & [amazon](http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DZV2M5Q/?tag=trenhunt0f-20) The optical mouse has eliminated the need for a traditional mousepad, but the Jelly Comb Gaming Desk Mat is designed to offer an effective way to make a desktop more suitable for long stints of use. The desk pad features an oversized aesthetic that essentially works as a mousepad for your entire desktop rather than just offering a small section for your mouse. This makes it possible for you to have a soft surface for keeping your computer, laptop and/or peripherals on when working, gaming or simply browsing on the net. The Jelly Comb Gaming Desk Mat features a non-slip under padding as well as two pop-up docks for your smartphone or tablet in order to offer a dedicated spot to store your device(s) when you're seated at your desk. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Oversized Desk Pads:** Opportunity for creating large desk pads that cover the entire desktop surface, providing a soft and comfortable workspace for various activities. - **Multi-functional Desk Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for desk accessories that have multiple features, such as non-slip padding and built-in docks for smartphones or tablets. - **Enhanced Desktop Ergonomics:** Potential for developing products that promote better ergonomics and comfort during long hours of computer use, gaming, or browsing on a desktop. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Office Supplies:** Potential disruptive innovation for office supply manufacturers to create new desk pad designs and accessories that offer improved functionality and comfort. - **Gaming Accessories:** Opportunity for gaming accessory companies to develop innovative desk mats that cater specifically to the needs of PC gamers for enhanced gaming experiences. - **Ergonomic Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for manufacturers of ergonomic products to introduce new desk pad designs that promote better ergonomics and reduce strain during computer use. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wireless Soft Desk Mats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/journey-alti.md) - [Waterproof Desktop Technology Mats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spillresistant-desk-mat.md) - [Mat-Topped Gamer Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharkoon-skiller.md) - [Tech-Friendly Desk Mats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-charging-desk-mat.md) - [Minimalist Gaming Mousepads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ek-loot.md) - [Ambient Illumination Gamer Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pc-gaming-desk.md) - [Professional Gaming-Ready Mousepads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glorious-mouse-pad-v2.md) - [Practical Matte Desk Pads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-pad.md) - [Large Wireless-Charging Desk Mats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zagg-desk-mat.md)
