Appropriately titled 'The Universe in a Sphere,' the object looks like a paper weight and comes with different stands -- some of which light up and others that are solid in color. The [glass ball](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comet-pendant) is said to contain a replica of Laniakea -- which is the name of the supercluster of galaxies that the Milky Way is a part of. Each lasered dot in the sphere represents an entire galaxy which likely contains [billions of stars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-phase-lamp), much like the Milky Way does. This unique desk decoration would be an excellent gift for individuals who enjoy or study astrology. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Replica Universe Decor:** Creating desk decorations that hold replicas of the universe presents new opportunities for unique and visually stunning decor items. - **Laser-etched Glass:** Using laser etching technology to create precise and intricate designs on glass opens up possibilities for innovative decorations and personalized products. - **Astrology-inspired Gifts:** Designing products that cater to the interests of astrology enthusiasts creates a niche market and potential for selling unique and thoughtful gifts. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can leverage replica universe decorations to offer customers visually captivating and conversation-worthy pieces for their living spaces. - **Glassware Manufacturing:** Glassware manufacturers can explore laser etching techniques to create intricate designs and patterns on glass products, expanding their offerings and attracting customers with unique designs. - **Gift and Specialty Retail:** Gift and specialty retail stores can tap into the astrology market by curating a selection of astrology-inspired products, including the replica universe decoration, to cater to astrology enthusiasts and offer them unique and meaningful gifts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Miniature Astronomy Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-planetarium.md) - [Levitating Solar System Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quantum-solar-system.md) - [Galactic-Themed Pen Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ufo-desk-pen.md) - [Celestially Inspired Desk Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/astral-desk-clock.md) - [Miniature Spherical Replica Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-sphere.md) - [Celestial Ceiling Lighting Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cosmobile.md) - [Mechanical Kinetic Motion Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mezmoglobe.md) - [Celestial Body Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-chair-solar-series.md) - [Astronomical Concept-Inspired Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/copernica.md)
