The fashion house decided to create its first collection for the Belgium-based decor brand Omexco, with only five design wallpaper options to choose from. Five is not too little a number when you see the versatility in the collection, which includes everything from dark and edgy to vintage and delicate. The collection is made up of La Paésine, La Mosaïque, Le Rideau, Le Point de Croix and L'optique -- some of which have surprising optical illusions and reinterpreted motifs. "By blending humor with elegance and [avant-garde ideals with classic tastes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hm-x-glenn-martens), by reinterpreting objects of all forms and sizes and by playing with false pretenses, Maison Martin Margiela deconstructs shape and volume and moulds a conceptual aesthetic within a one of a kind realm," says the team at Maison Martin Margiela. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Avant-garde Wallpaper Design:** Exploring avant-garde patterns and illusions in wallpaper design, creating unique and visually striking statement pieces for interior design. - **Versatility in Wallpaper Collections:** Developing wallpaper collections that offer a wide range of style options, from dark and edgy to vintage and delicate, to cater to diverse customer preferences. - **Optical Illusions in Wallpaper:** Incorporating optical illusions and reinterpreted motifs in wallpaper design, creating visually captivating and interactive experiences in interior spaces. ### Where This Applies - **Fashion and Home Decor:** Combining fashion and home decor industries to create unique and stylish wallpaper collections that cater to fashion-conscious consumers. - **Interior Design:** Providing interior designers with innovative and visually striking wallpaper options to enhance and transform spaces. - **Art and Design:** Blurring the boundaries between art and design by creating avant-garde wallpaper collections that serve as statement artworks for walls. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bauhaus-Inspired Pattern Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/design-en-rogue.md) - [Fragrance Inspired Wallpapers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallpaper-collection.md) - [Folk Art-Inspired Wallpapers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/backdrop.md) - [Vibrantly Bold Wallpaper Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otto-studio.md) - [Painting-Inspired Wallpaper Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portals-collection.md) - [Digital-Themed Glitchy Visual Wallpapers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glitch-wallpaper.md) - [Artist-Designed Wallpaper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallpaper-collection1.md) - [Artist-Approved Intricate Wallpaper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/printed-decors.md) - [Digital-First Luxury Apparel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mmerch-1.md)
