Located in Hong Kong, this nifty apartment was designed by [Clifton Leung Design Workshop](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clifton-house) to create a neutral decor theme and enhance the [space-saving design solution](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expand-furniture) the clients requested. Everything about this apartment is [compact](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miami-tiny-house): the TV in the living room is wall-mounted, two benches that can be separated to offer flexibility are used instead of a traditional sofa and of course there are the wall cabinets all over the apartment. Not only are the ten sliding doors used to adjoin rooms via a central corridor running the length of the apartment, whenever opened or closed, they change the feel of the apartment from open concept to a more constructed space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 99% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Space-saving Design:** Creating sliding doors as a design solution to maximize the use of space in compact apartments. - **Flexible Furniture:** Using benches instead of traditional sofas to offer flexibility in small living spaces. - **Wall-mounted Storage:** Incorporating wall cabinets throughout the apartment to keep belongings organized and save space. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Innovative design solutions like sliding doors and flexible furniture are disrupting the way interior designers create functional and efficient spaces. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The demand for flexible and space-saving furniture is increasing, providing an opportunity for manufacturers to create innovative products that meet the needs of small living spaces. - **Home Organization:** With the rise in compact living spaces, the demand for efficient storage solutions like wall cabinets is growing, presenting opportunities for the home organization industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Smartly Designed Compact Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-apartments2.md) - [Sliding Grid-Affixed Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/square-to-square.md) - [Fold-Out Furniture London Flats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/florin-court-flat.md) - [Cleverly Designed Micro Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabanon.md) - [Reimagined Minimal Parisian Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-cocoon.md) - [Japanese Inn-Inspired Micro Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-tarta-piccola.md) - [Nostalgic 70s-Inspired Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-special-studio.md) - [Curved Translucent Experimental Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptors-apartment.md) - [Compact Living Bright Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apartment-ann.md)
