Design Pavilion—a New York City-based organization that is dedicated to beautifying the city with engaging public art installations—commissioned American studio [CLB Architects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caju-house) to create a playful activation for the annual NYCxDesign festival. The project, located in the famously hectic Times Square in New York, is named '[Filter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piurify-alchemy).'

Made out of weathering steel plates, Filter was initially planned for 2020, however, its construction was understandably delayed due to the pandemic. The piece has a [circular structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-round-pavilion) and a tree in the middle. There are spaces for individuals to sit and take a rest or socialize at the bottom of the pavilion. CLB Architects has mentioned that "Filter carves out space for quiet recentering within the frenetic energy of Times Square."
