Now that most of the world has been conquered in terms of travel adventures, it seems that people are looking to the skies for the next big thing. Since the desert provides the perfect blank canvas for spotting stars in the sky, this [stargazing experience](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sky-view-tent) is set up in Chile's Atacama desert. Being one of the driest spots in the world also means that this region is one of the most unpolluted. In place of people permanently calling the desert home, there are a number of space observatories that call to tourists from around the world. On a night tour, people are able to [peer through 10-mile-long telescopes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaonis-hyperia) at the Alma observatory, with a resolution that's 10 times higher than the Hubble telescope. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: South America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Travel](https://www.trendhunter.com/travel) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Astro-tourism:** The growing interest in astro-tourism presents opportunities for businesses to offer unique stargazing experiences. - **Desert Tourism:** The popularity of desert tourism opens up the potential for businesses to provide immersive desert tours. - **Unpolluted Skies:** The appeal of unpolluted skies creates opportunities for businesses to create stargazing experiences in remote locations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Travel and Tourism:** The travel and tourism industry can tap into the trend of astro-tourism by offering specialized stargazing tours in unique locations. - **Hospitality:** The hospitality industry can cater to astro-tourists by providing luxury desert accommodations and stargazing amenities. - **Technology:** The technology industry can develop innovative telescopes and stargazing equipment to enhance the stargazing experience for astro-tourists. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bespoke Wellness Trips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/naya-traveler.md) - [Moon-Inspired Spain Tours](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-tour-of-spain.md) - [Immersive Desert Safari Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desert-safari-dubai.md) - [Crystal-Clear Smart Telescopes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-telescopes.md) - [Nightsky-Observing Clear-Top Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sky-view-tent.md) - [Ancient Oasis Desert Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/habitas-alula-desert-hotel.md) - [Exclusive Luxurious Spaceflight Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-space-perspective.md) - [Immersive Space Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beyond-the-light.md) - [Space Exploration Hotel Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uplift-aerospace.md)
